Title: Perfil epidemiológico de la diabetes tipo 2 en Tabasco, México (2007-2017).

Abstract: Introduction: People diagnosed with type 2 diabetes have a total metabolic and cardiovascular mortality burden; both types of diabetes have prolonged periods of hyperglycemia, which represents a high risk of increased microvascular and macrovascular complications. Objective: Analyzing the epidemiological profile of type 2 diabetes in adults over 20 years of age and older in Tabasco status from 2007 to 2017 Material and methods: an observational, cross-sectional, retrospective study of an 11-year period was conducted, of all cases of death and prevalence of type 2 diabetes in adults over 20 years of age, of Tabasco state, data were obtained the platform of the DGIS. Results: The sex risk estimate indicates that being a woman in 2015 in Tabasco, they had OR 11,312 times more risk of dying, compared to their male counterpart in the same year. Conclusion: The highest prevalence of cases of type diabetes is for the female sex; the age group with the highest incidence of deaths is 60-79 years old, where the female sex also has the greatest presence.
